  • Refrigeration Scholarships

    Apprenticeship Annual Scholarship for the Refrigeration Trade

    MCAS offers only one scholarship in the amount of $1000, which is awarded to the recipient with the highest mark in either the Plumbing, Sheet Metal, Refrigeration, and Pipefitting trades. Request for submissions will go out to the membership in the months of July and August. The scholarship will be paid directly to the recipient and are presented annually at the Saskatchewan Apprenticeship and Trade Certification Apprenticeship Awards ceremony in Regina.

    The Eligibility Requirements

    • An individual who has successfully completed the 4th level of the refrigeration trade program from September to June of the current year.
    • Must be employed by a member of the Mechanical Contractors Association of Saskatchewan Inc.
    • Highest mark of those people receiving Journeyperson Certification in their trade during the current year.
    • A transcript of marks must accompany the application.
  • Sheet Metal Scholarships

  • Ralph Schuler Scholarship

    Memorial Scholarship for the Plumbing and Sheet Metal Apprenticeship Programs

    We are pleased to present scholarship awards to a third and fourth year plumbing and sheet metal apprentice.

    The Scholarship

    Name: Ralph Schuler and Mechanical Contractors Association of Saskatchewan Inc. Memorial Scholarships

    Frequency: Spring and Fall

    Value: $1,000 per selection, total $4,000

    Selection: Recipients are to be nominated by the Program Head(s) for the plumbing and sheet metal 3rd and 4th level apprenticeship classes.

    Presentation: To be presented by a representative of Pow City Mechanical and a representative of the Mechanical Contractors Association of Saskatchewan Inc., usually by the President or Executive Director.

    Notification: Saskatchewan Polytechnic will be responsible for official notification to the winners.

    The Eligibility Requirements

    Fall Scholarship
    • An individual who has successfully completed the 4th Level Plumbing Apprenticeship program, with an intake date between January and June (in the prior academic year) at the Saskatchewan Polytechnic Kelsey Campus.
    • An individual who has successfully completed the 3rd Level Sheet Metal Apprenticeship program, with an intake date between January and June (in the prior academic year) at the Saskatchewan Polytechnic Kelsey Campus.
    Spring Scholarship
    • An individual who has successfully completed the 3rd Level Plumbing Apprenticeship program with an intake date between July and December (in the same academic year) at the Saskatchewan Polytechnic Kelsey Campus.
    • An individual who has successfully completed the 4th Level Sheet Metal Apprenticeship program, with an intake date between July and December (in the same academic year) at the Saskatchewan Polytechnic Kelsey Campus.

    Nominations will be based on: Academic standing (100% weighting)

    MCA Saskatchewan/Ralph Schuler Scholarship

    The recipients of the MCA Saskatchewan/Ralph Schuler Scholarship are selected based on the criteria established by the association for outstanding achievement in training and certification. The scholarships are presented semi-annually at the Saskatchewan Polytechnic Fall and Spring Awards.

  • Richard McKeagan Scholarship Series

     

    The 2026 application process is opening soon!

    The Mechanical Contractors Association of Canada (MCAC) accepts applications for the Richard McKeagan Scholarship Series on an annual basis. The 2026 application process will open in summer 2026.

    The Richard McKeagan Scholarship Series, named in honour of past-CEO Richard McKeagan, is supported by MCAC Associate Members and MCA partners from across Canada to provide the funding for the program. Since its launch in 2006, the scholarship series has awarded more than $50,000 to deserving post-secondary students.

    The Richard McKeagan Scholarship Series targets the mechanical field of study and has been broadened to include several new initiatives, including scholarships specifically for females in the mechanical field, apprentices and students dedicated to sustainability through design and engineering. This is in addition to the several scholarships available for financial assistance in the mechanical field of study.

    Scholarships are available through the following MCAC Associate Members and MCA partners: Bradford White Canada, Equipco Ltd., Federated Insurance, Masco/Delta,MCA Hamilton-Niagara, Milwaukee, OS&B, Palser Enterprises Ltd., RWC Canada, The Dirty Seahorse,Taco Comfort Solutions, Uponor, Watts Water Technologies, WiCTC and the broader Associate Membership of MCA Canada, which funds a single MCAC Associate Member Scholarship.
